VINTAGE W. CLAUBERG SOLINGEN GERMANY 5800 BLADE KNIFE WITH SHEATH Est. 1930's
This sale is for a vintage W. Clauberg - Solingen (Germany) fixed blade knife, and is from a private collection. It is estimated that the knife and sheath are circa 1930's.
The knife fits the sheath perfectly. The steel blade is 4.5 inches long. On the left side of the blade there are some spots (likely rust stains) due to age in storage. Near the base of the left side of the blade is the logo: W. The right side of the blade appears free from spotting, and has the model 5800 stamped near the base. The handle is made of bone (likely stage), and has no cracks, scratches, chips or stains. In the 1930's, small straight pins were used to secure the handle to the steel.The total handle length is 3.75 inches. Due to it's age, the fasteners have some small amounts of green residue (it has been mostly removed). The back of the sheath has a noticeable nickel sized stain. Total length of this fixed blade knife is 8.25 inches.
