Fixed blade hunting knife with stacked leather handle and leather sheath. This is an old American-made hunting knife from my grandfather's estate, and it has the kind of honest age, use, and character that collectors look for in vintage sporting knives. The blade is clearly marked Kinfolks U. And has the classic old-school hunting/skinning profile associated with vintage Kinfolks field knives. This appears to be a K380 / Trail Master style fixed blade, made during the mid-century era when Kinfolks was known for strong American working knives used by hunters, outdoorsmen, campers, and sportsmen.
Kinfolks knives have a great American cutlery history, with ties to the Case and Cattaraugus knife-making families. These were built as practical field tools, not cheap modern imports.
This knife still feels solid in the hand, has a sharp usable edge, and has the look and feel of a knife that was actually carried and respected over the years. The stacked leather handle has a beautiful worn-in vintage look with darkened age, surface wear, and natural character. The guard and pommel are intact, and the knife presents very well overall. The blade shows scratches, sharpening marks, patina, age spots, and signs of honest use.
The leather sheath is included and shows obvious wear, aging, scuffs, and use as seen in the photos. The sheath appears period-correct and has a hand-written name on it, which adds to the estate/family history of the piece. This is a great knife for a vintage hunting knife collector, Kinfolks collector, Case/Cattaraugus cutlery enthusiast, outdoorsman, cabin display, man cave, or anyone who appreciates American-made gear with real history behind it.
It is still functional and sharp, but also has strong display appeal as a collectible estate piece. Likely K380 / Trail Master style hunter/skinner.
From my grandfather's estate. Sharp, solid, and still usable. Great collectible American outdoorsman knife.Blade has scratches, sharpening marks, patina, and age-related wear. Handle shows wear and darkening from age/use. Sheath has visible wear, scuffs, aging, and a handwritten name.
Please review all photos carefully, as they are part of the description. A true vintage American hunting knife with family history, honest use, and classic outdoorsman character - the kind of piece that is getting harder to find and even harder to replace.
