Up for sale is this Vintage. Gerber475HS Presentation Grade Hunting knife with the original premium grade leather sheath in Good Condition. As you can see in the magnified photos there is a few hairline cracks in the wood handle.

The blade has the original edge and is engraved as seen in photo's. It Measures 9-3/4 overall with finger grooved Macassar Ebony hardwood handle. It hasthe Rockwell indent mark of 61 and HS on the tang of the high speed steel bladewith thumb rest on the spine of the blade.

Notcommon as most where 440C stainless steel! This modelwas next to the largest knife in the series and is a great skinning and general campblade. If the knife is not marked withthe HS it is stainless steel.

Only models 475 and 525 have blade thicknessof. 187, as compared to the other blades at. If you are a fanof high speed steel get it before its gone.

Only Gerber's most skilled master craftsmanearned the right to make these knives. ThePresentation Grade hunting knife series was Gerber's top of the line huntingknives until about 1995. There were five models starting with the smallest model400, 425, 450, 475 and going up to the largest 525. They were almost customhand made knives produced in a factory! Extra-strongblades are precision ground to a razor sharp, double-wedge shape and boast asuper-hardness of Rockwell C60-62. Special industrial hard-chrome plating keepsthese high speed tool steel blades bright and stainless through thedemanding use for which this series was designed.
