Vintage C. Jul. Herbertz 4 1/4 Stag Lockback Hunting Knife Gut Blade Germany

Herbertz German Hunting Knife - 4 1/4 Closed. A substantial old-school German hunting folder with beautiful aged stag and an uncommon, highly functional sporting configuration.

The main blade is stamped C. HERBERTZ / ROSTFREI and locks firmly open with the traditional rear back-lock release built into the handle. Lockup is tight and the mechanism functions properly. The genuine stag scales are excellent, with deep natural texture, mellow color, and no cracks noted.

Brass liners and the large bolster give the knife a solid, substantial feel in hand. The secondary blade is a traditional German gutting blade, with the distinctive blunt capped tip designed for hunting use. Combined with the full corkscrew, it gives this knife a very interesting classic European sportsman configuration. The primary blade has been sharpened and shows honest use. The knife has not been abused and retains its function and collector appeal throughout.

Please examine all photos carefully as they are an important part of the description. Full corkscrew present and intact. A very appealing vintage Herbertz for the German knife collector, stag collector, or anyone who appreciates traditional hunting patterns. The aged stag, locking main blade, gutting blade, and corkscrew make this one stand apart. No box or paperwork included.
