US Springfield Indian Wars US Cavalry Knife Model 1880. It is a hunting knife and fighting knife. It measures 13 1/2" overall with a 8 1/2" long, 2 wide blade. Single edged with a spear point. This blade was made in 1883. The brass guard is stamped "4428". And in very good condition. The wood handle is in good condition also with a very small ding at.
The end of the handle. The blade has been sharpened but has been done correctly with no loss. There are no deep scratches or dings. The blade is tarnished in some places. But is in great condition with no pitting.
The internal steel throat clip is still riveted to the brass. Guard the knife fits nice and tight in the sheath. This is a Rare find!!!! Will be well packed for mailing.
