Vintage Hunter-Skinner manufactured by Union Cutlery Company in Olean, NY circa 1912 to mid-1920th. Rare pre-depression model with stacked leather, colored fiber, and brass washers handle and a "large nut" solid aluminum pommel. These colorful handles were the "hot new thing" after WW1 but went away during the Great Depression; this type is rare this nice. The knife is about 9" / 23 cm overall; fullered blade is about 5" / 12.7 cm long; it's razor-sharp still, the tip is intact. Stacked washers handle is solid; all parts are tight with no play. The knife comes with hard-to-find original lather sheath in great overall condition, considering the age. The sheath is signed MUNDY on the back.
