Offered for sale is a vintage Landers Frary & Clark Landers, Fairy & Clark started making knives in1866 and instituted with Aetna works New Britain, Conn. Fixed-blade Bowie knife, made in USA, probably ca. This knife features a carbon steel clip point blade, a perfect nickel silver double hilt, and perfect stag horn handles. The handles are beautiful genuine matching stag with no cracks, chips or any imperfections and has 4 large pins.
The blade is 6" long with a 4" false top edge and 3/16 thick at the hilt. The blade is stamped Landers Frary & Clark, Aetna works faintly, but it is readable. The Overall length is 10. The knife is in very good condition overall, especially considering its age, a 100 plus years old.The blade shows some staining throughout with some scratches from sharpening and buff cleaning over the years and is completely intact and as tight as they come. Included with the knife is a leather sheath or what's left of it possibly original to the knife but has rubber tape around it. This knife is very well. Will provide many more years of service with proper care.
