A well-made vintage puukko style hunter-skinner likely made circa 1960th-1950th. The blade was "etched-signed" on one side long ago but the maker's name is mostly unreadable now. Straight drop-point carbon blade and staked paper birch bark handle - Finland has always made some of the best traditional-style Puukko knives. This knife is about 10-1/2" / 26.7 cm overall; the blade is about 5-1/2" / 14 cm; it's engraved MADE IN FINLAND on one side. Stacked paper birch bark washers, wood pommel, and brass collar handle; all parts are tight with no pay; brass has a small crack. The edge has been lightly re-sharpened; it is razor-sharp still; the tip is intact. Original metal-tipped leather sheath is in great condition; all stitching and rivets are intact.
