Please read our Terms below for details. PLEASE NOTE: We take our photos in natural light outdoors and as a result there are sometimes reflections or shadows or glare shown in the blades.
In person none of these exist; we will say so in the description if it may be otherwise. It just doesn't get much better than this. And still, well over 100 years after it was made, it remains fully capable of going to work on a daily basis. Originally made as a hunting knife, it isn't overly thick, like most hunting knives, but it has zero flex and this quality of being thin yet stiff is one of the single greatest indicators of the quality of its blade, which is hand-forged carbon steel of the finest kind. Handles are hand-checkered African ebony, also of the finest quality, hafted over a full, fatted tang using three small steel pins and reinforced at the bolster with some beautifully wrought, clad pewter.
Condition is excellent, as you can see in the photos, with no problems of any kind, though the sheath has had a replacement belt loop at some point in its history. The knife is 10.25" long with a 5.5" blade but by any measure this is the kind of rare antique American knife that user and collector alike will instantly embrace as an heirloom--and rightly so.
