Vintage Harry Morseth knife, a vintage original, used Harry Morseth knife with Brusletto blade. Most likely made prior to 1953. See the photos for features and condition.
This is a Modified Bowie, Harry's favorite design. It has a one piece stag handle. The nickel silver, black and red fiber spacers complement the mellow patina of the stag handle. Flush brass tang nut balances the straight brass single guard. BRUSLETTO GEILO made in Norway is stamped on one side of the blade.Morseth is stamped on the tang on the other side of the blade. Overall length is about 9 and 3/8 inches blade length is 4 and 15/16 inches. The sheath is the original Morseth Everett, Wa safe-lok.
It is stamped Patent Applied For. The sheath patent was finally granted in 1953. Quality heavy leather with fiber liner and leather collar to hold the knife in place and has a belt loop. A Stag head is stamped on the front on the keeper collar. The leather, tooling designs, hand lacing and tassels are in great shape. Overall, the knife and sheath are in nice shape with no major issues. Remember, this is a used knife and has been carried in the field and the blade has scratches as would be expected. The knife has been lightly sharpened. There is a small tight hairline crack in the butt at the tang nut and extending about a quarter of an inch.
