This 11.5 fixed-blade hunting knife was hand-forged from a premium vintage Nicholson Mill Bastard file. It combines the legendary edge retention of high-carbon American steel with a modern, high-end aesthetic. The Blade (Custom Forged): by Cutting Edge Forge Forged for performance, the blade underwent a full anneal and three precise normalizing cycles to ensure a refined grain structure and maximum toughness.

The original "NICHOLSON MADE IN USA" stamp is clearly visible on the ricasso. I have used a Ferric Chloride acid etch to highlight the original file teeth on the flats, creating a striking contrast against the clean, hand-ground bevels. The "Phantom Ember" Handle: The handle is a custom-cast epoxy resin using translucent red and black alcohol inks. The finish is glass-clear, allowing light to pass through the deep red sections while showcasing smoky black swirls inside. It is topped with a polished aluminum guard and pommel for a classic, secure grip. The Sheath (Premium Boltaron): This knife comes with a heavy-duty sheath made from Boltaron thermoplastic.

Boltaron is a premium alternative to Kydex, offering superior impact and temperature resistance. Note: This is high-carbon tool steel. To maintain the finish and prevent rust, the blade should be kept lightly oiled.
