It just doesn't get much better than this. This is a beautiful old knife made with the classic carved ebony handle known as a thistle-top, offered here in excellent condition in the largest of several sizes in which this knife was produced. It was made in Massachusetts by Russell in their Green River Works using African ebony of the very highest quality, hand-checkered like a gunstock for a sure grip every time. Blade is thick and sturdy carbon steel and the entire knife is a top-quality piece in every way. Condition is excellent, with none of the cracks that are usually found on thistle-top handles and none of the carved initials in the butt of handle that too often ruin an otherwise great one.

Though this is obviously a collector item of some value it would be a shame not to use it if you're able. Comes in its original leather sheath, which is also in very good condition, as you can see in the photos.

Measures 10.25" long with a 5-7/8" blade--a very handy size for self-defense or backup carry, though if you choose only to display it in a collection, you'll be equally pleased with it. A great knife for use or display and one you're sure to think of as an heirloom.
