Vintage GAUCHO Hunting / Fighting knife - in "as found" uncleaned condition. NEAT antique GAUCHO FACON - a Hunting / Fighting knife - the Gauchos used for everyday chores and defense. This Knife / Facon is the REAL THING - not a tourist item! 14 13/16 inch blade - which shows some of the original etching - but also rust and pitting from having been stored in the scabbard.

Fancy cross guard and hilt - made of nickel silver (we believe) - and looks to show remnants of silver plating. Because the leather washer between the guard and blade is missing - the handle is a bit loose (the pommel could be tightened - if one wanted to). Original fancy nickel silver scabbard - there is a tear towards the tip, but the metal is still attached - and the blade still fits. Stamped: SCHOLBERG & JOUCLA on the blade. They were merchants with stores in Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay.
