ANTIQUE MARBLE'S HUNTING KNIFE. I found this beautiful, antique hunting knife in a chest full of possessions once owned by my great-uncle Hubie. It measures about 8-3/4" long, overall with a 5" blade.

It has a stag two piece brass pinned handle with a stag butt. The blade is marked Marble's, Gladstone Mich. With the serif over the letter A.

It comes with it's original leather tube sheath with belt loop. The loop is marked H.

My great-grandfather built the family home in Woodhaven back around 1900. The Andersons were neighbors and close friends of the family for generations. How the knife came to be in my great-uncle's possession is unknown and will remain that way as everybody who could have known is long gone!

I think it probably dates to the 1910s-1920s. For it's age, the knife is in excellent condition but the sheath has a split in the leather (photo arrow).

It is quite sharp and does not appear to have ever been re-sharpened. There is some very light staining, of the blade, that could be polished out if desired and the two piece portion of the handle is a bit loose on the tang.
