This authentic Lamson and Goodnow Bowie knife was found in the now closed Charles Schultz museum house in NJ, which is why it is in such impeccable shape. The handle is hand-carved African ebony, the blade is high carbon steel. Heavy, compact and very well balanced, a perfect knife to keep in your boot. Circa 1860s, made either before, during, or right after the civil war.
