Vintage Early PUMA SOLINGEN ABERCROMBIE & FITCH Stag Boot Hunting Knife + Sheath

Here is a nice early vintage PUMA SOLINGEN ROSTFREI / ABERCROMBIE & FITCH CO. MADE IN GERMANY hunting/ boot knife with a stag handle and its original sheath. These are commonly referred to as nicker knives or Bayernmessers/ Fahrtenmessers in Germany. The knife is in excellent condition overall.

The blade appears to have been very lightly sharpened, but you can only really see it with a magnifying glass. The Abercrombie and Puma etches are fully intact.

The metal throat is tight, and the pommel/ end has an extremely tiny bit of movement. The one piece stag handle is nice, tight and crack/ chip free. The sheath has some scuffing/ wear to the leather's surface, but it is crack free and solid. It's back stitching is all intact. Both metal end pieces are tight and crack free.
