This handmade, fixed blade hunting knife was made by Rick Nowland, and is in excellent condition. Rick began making knives in 1986, and at that time they consisted of fixed blade knives. He started making slip-joint folders in 1995, and today that is his specialty. So, we are assuming that this knife was made sometime in the late 1980's or early 1990's. It is made from a 3/16 thick piece of steel - Rick used both stock removal and forging for his fixed blades - this one is stock removal, but we are not sure of the blade steel. The blade is in unused condition, with a satin finish. The handle is an unknown wood type, with nice grains and a single pin. There is a bone spacer between the single finger guard and wood of the handle. It comes with a leather pouch-type pigskin belt sheath, made by Bob Schrap of Wauwatosa, WI. A great knife for hunting season. This knife comes from a life-long collection of knives that were well-taken care of, and with very few exceptions, properly stored.
