Customized Vintage Russell Green River Carbon Steel/Stag Hunting Skinning Knife

This is the second of two knives with a similar origin (as of this writing) and like the other, is just a beautiful knife in an excellent sheath, found here in virtually new condition. With an older thick, carbon steel lamb skinning blade forged by Russell in their legendary Green River Works in Massachusetts, the knife was hafted using beautiful elk stag handle scales hafted over a full tang. It measures 9.75" long with a SUPERB 5.5" carbon steel blade that's as good as it gets--VERY sharp and ready to provide an outstanding lifetime of service in the field--or kitchen. Like all carbon steel knives of this vintage it'll take a super-fine edge that's easy to hone and a pleasure to use.

Its beautiful design just invites the hand to hold and use it. It's clear the piece was meant to be as beautiful as it is useful, and it is VERY useful! It's as strong and solid as a tank and will last a couple of muzzle-loading lifetimes if properly maintained.

Both knife and sheath have excellent materials, craftsmanship and design, and whether you want them as trade bait on your blanket, at the next black powder/rendezvous, for use in the field, or simply to display among your finest collector pieces, this is an exceptional knife that is sure to get noticed wherever it goes, and and something you'll rightly be proud to pass along to future generations.
